About | The Plum Tomato

∼ Our Story ∼

The Plum Tomato is an independently owned restaurant established by local resident David Greenhalgh, a restaurant veteran who has owned and operated several restaurant concepts in the New England area since 1995. The mission of The Plum Tomato is to provide creative, great-tasting and high-quality food in a warm, inviting environment served by a friendly and efficient staff (say that 10 times fast!). In short, we want to be the place you visit when you want a quick and tasty meal; whether that be our hand-stretched pizza, a pasta specialty dish, or our famous bone-in buffalo wings.

The Plum Tomato is not your typical pizzeria. We take great pride in offering quality products many of which are made from scratch. Our marinara sauce is made on premise from a secret recipe that came from Boston’s North End. Our pasta specialty dishes are made from scratch…no pre-breaded chicken or canned sauces here, and our bone-in buffalo wings are house-seasoned and never breaded—the way a true wing should be. We also think our pizza is the best around. The dough is made on premise and is hand-stretched by our pizza makers. Our pizza sauce is made on premise from a secret house recipe. Our pizza cheese is shredded in house to avoid the fillers that accompany pre-shredded cheese. And of course our pizza is cooked in a stone-lined oven…never in a pan and never in a conveyor oven like other local places. Why do we go through such trouble?

Because Pizza Matters!
